Game-Changing Vegan Egg Coming to Grocery Stores This Fall
By now, you might have heard about the brand-new vegan egg from JUST. Made from mung beans, this plant-based egg alternative looks and scrambles up like traditional eggs but without the cholesterol, horrific animal suffering, and other problems associated with consuming animal products.
The product has been making headlines for months, but as the makers of JUST Egg expand into the grocery market, the number of retailers offering it will surely skyrocket. Some of the first supermarkets to carry this innovative new egg alternative include Hy-Vee and Fresh Thyme in the Midwest; Gelson’s, Mollie Stone’s, and Nugget Markets in California; and Wegmans in the Mid-Atlantic and New England.
And the company shows no signs of slowing down. Business Wire explains:
As JUST Egg debuts in retail, JUST is expanding the product’s availability to restaurants, corporate cafeterias, school campuses, hospitals and stadiums in both pourable liquid and baked patty formats through Sysco, US Foods, UNFI, and other distributors.
Early restaurant partnerships have shown JUST Egg can drive new business. One reported JUST Egg led to a 42 percent increase in egg category sales and a 13 percent increase in total breakfast sales. Another reported that after adding JUST Egg to the menu, 30 percent of egg-related orders were made with the product.
If the amazing success of realistic plant-based offerings like the Beyond Burger is any indication, this game-changing egg alternative has the potential to transform the way people eat for the better.
As more people discover the vast cruelty inherent in animal agriculture, the popularity of vegan food will only continue to grow. From savory new options popping up at restaurants to the growing number of all-vegan eateries, there’s never been a better time to ditch cruel animal foods.
