Whole Foods Market is about to launch a brand-new plant-based stuffed roast made by The Herbivorous Butcher! This, along with several other delicious Thanksgiving dishes, will be available in Southern California, Hawaii, Arizona, and Las Vegas.

The holiday specials include Chef Ayindé Howell’s Mac & Yease, green beans with roasted shallots, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and a sweet cranberry-orange sauce. But the pièce de résistance is The Herbivorous Butcher’s Vegan Turk’y stuffed with French bread and wild rice.

Megan Tucker, prepared foods associate coordinator for Whole Foods, told VegNews:

We wanted to offer a traditional holiday meal for vegans and plant-based eaters this year with a special entrée complemented by delicious sides. The Herbivorous Butcher is best-in-class in the seitan world and we are so excited about our new partnership. Mac & Yease is local to our region and has become an item our customers demand at all times. We couldn’t be happier connecting these suppliers.

The Herbivorous Butcher, the first plant-based butcher shop in the United States, opened its doors in Minneapolis in 2016. Run by brother and sister duo Aubry and Kale Walch, the shop made headlines all year and even landed a feature on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Since then, the number of plant-based “butchers” has steadily risen, with vegan meat vendors in the news around the globe.

Whole Foods’ exciting new Thanksgiving dishes will be available as a “Vegan Meal” that serves four. Holiday hosts can place orders on the company’s website from November 1 through 26, and pickup will take place from November 21 through 28. Beginning on November 21, the dishes will be available for purchase separately in the grab-and-go sections of stores. Don’t forget—you can always find Chef Ayindé Howell’s Mac & Yease in participating stores’ hot bars!
