It’s finally happening! On September 20, plant-based startup Impossible Foods will make its supermarket debut in select cities across the country.

Initially, the details were kept secret, with the company posting on Instagram: “We’re coming to shelves soon! Can you guess the first city?” But news just broke that the Impossible Burger will launch at 27 Gelson’s Markets locations in Southern California. Impossible Foods says its burgers will be available at more grocery stores later this month, including some on the East Coast.

Impossible Foods’ products are already sold at more than 10,000 restaurant locations around the world, and they have been so popular that the company has struggled to keep up with demand! Customers have flocked to Burger King, Red Robin, White Castle, and other restaurants across the country offering the Impossible Burger, putting pressure on their supply chains. Tricia Scanlon, a bartender at a Red Robin in New York, told The New York Times:

I can’t believe how many people are going crazy over it. A lot of people have been asking for it, people that are vegetarians or vegans. Everybody who lives that lifestyle absolutely loves it.

Earlier this year, Impossible Foods scaled up its manufacturing operations to help manage its growth. It also just secured around $300 million from Bill Gates, Google Ventures, Viking Global Investors, and others.

We are beyond excited for Impossible Foods to hit store shelves! Here are a few things we can’t wait to make:

Grilled Burgers

First things first! It’s technically still summer, so we’re ready to head outside and throw some Impossible patties on the grill, serving them up with vegan cheese, plant-based mayonnaise, and a boatload of pickles.

Whether they eat meat or not, all your family members will adore spaghetti and meatballs made with some of the most “realistic” plant-based meat in existence.

Grab a few corn tortillas, a lime, and some cilantro—soon you’ll be chomping down on juicy, meaty vegan tacos!

You can’t have tacos without nachos! A sprinkle of ground vegan meat will enhance your game-day staple.

Beef Wellington

Feeling fancy? Why not challenge yourself to master the beef Wellington?
