The Beyond Burger is undoubtedly one of America’s most beloved vegan meats. Launched in 2016, the burger contains 20 grams of protein, “bleeds” pulverized beet juice, and has the look, smell, and taste of meat.

Earlier this year, the company behind the burger, Beyond Meat, announced plans to distribute its acclaimed plant-based patty across six continents! Now the Beyond Burger is officially available at Tesco—one of the world’s largest supermarket chains—in the U.K.

The Guardian explains:

The Beyond Burger—the company’s flagship vegan-friendly product which sold out after its May 2016 launch in the U.S.—will be stocked alongside conventional fresh meat patties in more than 350 branches of the U.K.’s largest supermarket. The product—which will cost £5.50 for a pack of two—had been due to arrive in Tesco in August but its launch was delayed after huge demand in the U.S. put pressure on its U.K. supplies.

Available at several grocers in the U.S. and Canada, the burger is often sold next to its meat-based counterparts, a strategy that has proved incredibly effective for the company. In May, Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown told Forbes that the Beyond Burger was the “number-one-selling beef patty in the meat case” at some stores of a major conventional retailer.

The impressive demand for the Beyond Burger is no surprise for anyone who’s found the product sold out at their local grocer. That’s why Beyond Meat recently announced it would open a second production facility to keep up with interest in its products.

As more people become aware of the egregious animal cruelty and vast environmental destruction involved in meat production, the popularity of delicious vegan meat alternatives continues to rise.

With vegan foods becoming more accessible, it’s never been easier to ditch animal products. You can join the growing number of people who are taking a stand for animals, the environment, and their own health by transitioning to a plant-based diet.
