Starbucks Released a New Seasonal Drink Made With Almond Milk—and It’s Vegan
Adding to its list of drinks made with nondairy milk, Starbucks just released a brand-new seasonal drink: Toffee Almondmilk Hot Chocolate. The company calls the drink “a one-of-a-kind hot chocolate for the most wonderful time of the year.” And it can be made vegan. Seriously—all you have to do is skip the whipped cream!
Elite Daily reports:
The Toffee Almondmilk Hot Chocolate is available to enjoy at Starbucks locations nationwide starting on the morning of Nov. 21—just in time for you to test out over the long Thanksgiving weekend.
Starbucks has been offering new vegan menu items nonstop. In the past few months alone, the chain has debuted its first completely plant-based lunch bowl, announced plans to offer a dairy-free version of its famed bottled Frappuccinos, and even started selling adorable vegan cupcakes at select Florida locations.
And don’t expect the new vegan offerings to slow down anytime soon. In the company’s last quarter-earnings report, Starbucks detailed its commitment to adding more plant-based options in the future. According to Business Insider, CEO Kevin Johnson told analysts, “Plant-based beverages and alternatives [are a] big area of opportunity for us, and our customers are asking for it.”
As more people learn about the inherent cruelty in milk production, they’re skipping dairy in favor of healthy, plant-based alternatives. Businesses like Starbucks are taking advantage of this fact by adding more vegan items to their menus and product lines.
