New Plant-Based Company Launching Burgers and Ground Beef at Whole Foods
U.K. company The Meatless Farm is launching its vegan burgers and ground beef in over 450 Whole Foods Market stores across the United States.
Last year, the plant-based startup debuted its products—which include meat-free mince and burgers—at U.K. grocery chain Sainsbury’s. Now, it has established a U.S. headquarters in New York City and plans to open Meatless Farm production and distribution facilities in the States and continue expanding.

Beginning this month, excited customers can grab Meatless Farm’s quarter-pound burger patties and ground beef in Whole Foods’ fresh food aisle. The new meaty offerings are completely plant-based and made with high-quality, non-GMO ingredients. Parker Brody, global grocery category merchant for Whole Foods Market, told the Digital Journal:
It’s an exciting time to introduce The Meatless Farm Co to our U.S. shoppers, as plant-based is without a doubt one of the most innovative categories in retail, and gaining more and more traction with consumers.
Meatless Farm products are available in retail stores across the U.K., the rest of Europe, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. Surging demand for plant-based meat is driving this rapid growth. In fact, a new report by The Good Food Institute and the Plant Based Foods Association shows that sales of plant-based meat are growing five times as fast as sales of animal meat. Robert Woodall, CEO of The Meatless Farm, explained:
The response to our products in the U.K., Europe, the UAE and Canada has been phenomenal, so it’s only natural that we’re moving into the USA where the alternative meat category is moving so quickly.
The Meatless Farm is far from the only company innovating plant-based products. Vegan company Gardein will soon launch a new line of burgers, hot dogs, and sausages called the Ultimate Line, joining a thriving market that includes Beyond Meat, Lightlife, and Impossible Foods.
The Meatless Farm’s announcement comes on the heels of exciting new additions to Gardein’s frozen meals, such as Gochujang Style Chick’n Wings, Spicy Breakfast Saus’age Patties, and the Saus’age Benny Breakfast Bowl.
