Burger King’s Meatless Impossible Whopper Is Now Available Nationwide

Get excited: Burger King is now serving its meatless Impossible Whopper nationwide!

In April, Burger King made headlines when it launched the Impossible Whopper at St. Louis-area locations. A plant-based take on BK’s most popular burger, the offering features a patty from Impossible Foods and has been met with much fanfare.

In fact, a report from inMarket inSights suggests that in the first month after its release, the Impossible Whopper increased foot traffic at these locations by an average of almost 17 percent! The burger was then brought to more locations, including in Miami, Florida; Columbus, Georgia; and Montgomery, Alabama.

Now this incredible plant-based offering is available across the country! Served on a sesame seed bun with tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup, and pickles, the burger can easily be made vegan by ordering it without mayonnaise. In a press release, Chris Finazzo, president of Burger King’s North American operations, discussed the Impossible Whopper’s success:

Since we first launched our market tests in St. Louis in April, and later in six other markets across the country, we’ve heard great feedback and know the Impossible™ WHOPPER® appeals to both current guests who are already big fans of the WHOPPER® sandwich, as well as new guests who are excited about this new option.

As plant-based eating grows in popularity, more fast-food companies are adding new menu items to reach a broader market. Like Burger King, several other chains have added vegan meat from Impossible Foods to the menu.

In May, Qdoba, a fast-casual chain known for its Mexican-inspired menu, brought vegan ground meat from Impossible Foods to all locations. And in April, Red Robin rolled out the Impossible Burger at all its 570 U.S. restaurants.
