The Famed Las Vegas Strip Is Getting Its First Fully Vegan Restaurant

Finally—the Las Vegas Strip is getting a completely vegan restaurant! While the city boasts plenty of vegan restaurants and the Strip offers a myriad of plant-based options, this is the first all-vegan establishment on the famous boulevard.

Chef Pete Ghione opened Truth and Tonic (formerly the Canyon Ranch Cafe) in June of 2019 and quickly decided to purge the menu of all non-vegan items. Ghione, a vegan himself, has spent nearly two decades crafting plant-based dishes with fresh ingredients to promote good health and fight disease. He said:

Food is just one of many vehicles that we use to improve mind, body and spiritual health. Even though we may only see a diner for three days during their stay, I aim to make a statement that eating to improve your health or even just to maintain your health can be exciting, delicious, artistic and speak paragraphs of passion all within one meal.

A casual 65-seat restaurant nestled next to the fitness center at The Venetian Resort, Truth and Tonic is open daily for breakfast and lunch, and guests can expect the menu to be fully plant-based by the end of January.

The Strip’s first completely plant-based restaurant is far from the only vegan-friendly establishment in Las Vegas! Here are a few of our favorite places to dine in Sin City:

Wynn and Encore Resorts

Heaven? Is that you?

Fun fact: Every restaurant at Wynn and Encore has a plant-based menu! While options are sometimes on the regular menu, some places have a separate plant-based menu, so make sure to ask. My personal favorites are the vegan chicken and waffles at Terrace Point Cafe, the tasty plant-based pizza at Allegro, and—if you don’t mind spending some cash—the Gardein Parmigiana at Sinatra.

Nacho Daddy

With its upbeat atmosphere, very friendly staff, and fantastic food, Nacho Daddy is a true delight. The restaurant is tucked away in Miracle Mile Shops, so you can explore some of the 170 stores once you’ve had your fill of yummy vegan Mexican food. I recommend the vegan loaded nachos, triple dip, and chick’n enchiladas.

The Modern Vegan

Located less than a mile from the Strip, The Modern Vegan offers an extensive menu of plant-based comfort food. Try starting with the Canadian Poutine; it was probably my favorite thing on the menu. What Happens in Vegas is a great breakfast option, while The Buffalo is the bomb for lunch. Everything on the menu is supersized, so be sure to come hungry. And don’t leave without trying the chocolate shake!
