Mercy For Animals is thrilled to announce our latest champion of breakfast! Another Broken Egg Cafe is now trialing plant-based chorizo on their breakfast menu at 20 locations.

Known for their Southern-style cuisine and indulgent brunch, Another Broken Egg Cafe hadn’t offered plant protein options before. When asked how he expected customers to react to the new chorizo, Jason Knoll, vice president of culinary at Broken Egg Cafe, was optimistic: “That’s the big question, right? We hope it’s the beginning of a new category and fun culinary platform to launch from!”

According to Knoll, he and his team “follow trends very closely.” Knoll continued:

“With the increased excitement being generated around plant-based protein, we decided it was time to ask our boss, the Broken Egg consumer, what they think by putting it on the menu. Besides, isn’t it the right thing to do for the environment?”

Plant-based chorizo is taking 2022 by storm! You can try it at restaurants like Blaze Pizza, Freebirds World Burrito, and Chipotle. Ready to add this crowd-pleaser to your recipes at home? These five brands will elevate any meal!
