Just a few weeks ago, Pizza Hut, the world’s largest pizza chain, announced plans to run a trial offering of vegan cheese at a limited number of U.K. locations.

The Daily Mail explains:

Plant-based company Violife has announced it has partnered with Pizza Hut Restaurants to trial vegan cheese on pizzas at a limited number of eateries to see if there is a demand for the dairy-free alternative.

And yesterday, the company began offering dairy-free cheese nationwide in the U.K.! This change will undoubtedly make vegan eating easier than ever and will spare countless animals a lifetime of suffering.

Cows at dairy farms are subjected to extreme confinement, mutilations without painkillers, and inevitably, a ruthless slaughter. They are denied nearly everything that comes naturally to them, including caring for their young. As more people become aware of this sad reality, they’re ditching dairy products for good.

Pizza places like zPizza, Mellow Mushroom, and Pizza Rev have offered vegan cheese for years, taking advantage of the growing market for animal-free foods. Just this spring, Canadian company Pizza Pizza announced it would add vegan cheese to the menu at all of its 750 locations!

While this new vegan option is currently offered only at U.K. Pizza Hut locations, the chain should consider adding vegan cheese to its menus around the globe. Click here to leave a polite message on Pizza Hut’s Facebook page asking them to roll out this exciting new option at a location near you!
