Eating vegan is not only a great way to protect your health and the health of the planet; it’s also a great way to share the values of kindness and compassion for animals with your children. And in a true sign of the times, the world’s largest food company and a popular provider of infant formula, Nestlé, has announced a new dairy-free formula that caters to infants with allergies (and the growing number of vegan families)!

LiveKindly reports:

The blend, which includes the potato protein along with carbohydrates and fats, is suitable for children under the age of 12 months who suffer from milk allergies. Nestlé maintains that its product is unique as it is minimally processed; existing products use hypoallergenic formulas but their proteins are “highly processed” which affects cost and taste.

This new formula will provide a high-quality, hypoallergenic, cost-effective choice for parents who don’t want to compromise their values of compassion for animals or whose children cannot tolerate dairy and other common allergens.

While veganism has proved to be a healthful lifestyle for people of all ages (including babies!), misconceptions about raising vegan kids still abound. Fortunately, there’s no need to worry; the American Dietetic Association says, “Properly planned vegan diets are healthy, nutritionally adequate and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of many diseases.”

More people than ever before are ditching milk and other animal products, so it should come as no surprise that vegan families are also on the rise. This new offering is yet another sign that veganism is taking over.
