In 2016, America’s first-ever vegan butcher shop, The Herbivorous Butcher, opened its doors in Minneapolis! Since then, the number of plant-based “butchers” has steadily risen, with vegan meat vendors making headlines around the globe.

Soon the Lone Star State will boast its very own plant-based meat purveyor: Hip Peaz Vegan Eats! While the couple behind these amazing vegan meats only started doing pop-up events at the beginning of this year, they have encountered an onslaught of people interested in trying their delicious meat-free meats.

VegNews explains:

The eatery offers rotating menu items such as Crasian Shrimp Po-Boy Sandwich, Reuben Sandwich with house-made vegan corned beef, Sushi Burrito with vegan shrimp, and vegan Shrimp, Sausage, and Duck Gumbo. House-made vegan meats such as ham, corned beef, and hamburger patties are also available for purchase frozen.

Now Hip Peaz Vegan Eats has a permanent home at plant-based food cooperative Munch On and Beyond in San Antonio. And a quick look at the eatery’s Facebook page makes clear that the demand for its mouthwatering products is surpassing supply. One recent post explains: “San Antonio, please be patient as we try to keep up with demand! We are bringing in help ASAP! We will work through the nights to make sure we have product for you! Thank you!”

We can’t wait to give them a try!

It’s truly amazing to live in a time when we can enjoy all our favorite flavors without harming animals. We don’t need to wait until there’s a vegan butcher in every town. With the vast variety of mouthwatering vegan products already available at grocers far and wide, there’s never been a better time to ditch cruel animal products.
