Earlier this week, news broke that Trader Joe’s had released a new vegan banana bread. Sold for $3.99 a loaf, this bakery addition is available in select stores. Naturally, I had to give this product a try—so I made a special trip to Trader Joe’s.

This vegan banana bread is literally everything you want—dense, sweet, moist, and chock-full of walnuts. I was quick to spread on a little Miyoko’s cultured vegan butter, which can be found at Trader Joe’s nationwide. The pair was a match made in heaven.

Needless to say, it didn’t last long in my house. My brother and I finished the whole thing in about 10 minutes, making me wish I’d bought another. This new offering from Trader Joe’s is reminiscent of the homemade loaves I grew up with, and I sincerely hope the chain makes this a permanent bakery addition.

It’s no secret that people get excited for new Trader Joe’s products, especially all the fun seasonal and limited-time releases. Even the cashier at my local store said these banana bread loaves had been “flying off the shelves.” So what are you waiting for? These babies are so good that if I were you, I’d buy two.

As veganism gains popularity, grocers like Trader Joe’s are taking advantage of the expanding plant-based food market. Of course, this new banana bread is just one of the amazing plant-based products that Trader Joe’s sells, so be sure to stop by your local store and ask customer service for a full list of vegan items. And don’t forget, a bunch of them are labeled vegetarian but are actually vegan.
